Kevin Schrack P.T.

Kevin earned his B.S. in Biology from the College of William and Mary in 1978 and his Physical Therapy degree from ODU in 1981. From 1984-1992, Kevin worked in hospital settings and established an outpatient clinic for ortho surgeons. Kevin established the current practice in 1992 and is fully involved to date. He enjoys playing tennis and supporting WM athletics. Kevin is married with three children.  Kevin practices primarily as the clinical director of the Windsor office, yet sees patients also in Franklin and Chesapeake.

Dan received his Doctorate degree in physical therapy from Viginia Commonwealth University, his masters in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and his B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Florida majoring in athletic training. Dan came to Southside Physical Therapy in August of 1998 and is currently pursuing a  Functional Manual Certification through the Institute of Physical Art. Dan enjoys spending his time involved within his community and is a past president and member of the Franklin Rotary Club, current assistant governor Rotary District 7600 Area 10. Participated in Franklin Southampton Leadership Institute 2003, is a member of the Franklin Southampton Futures Group and a member of the Board of Directors for the Franklin Southampton Chamber of Commerce, serving as Vice-President for community development. Dan served as a Resident Advisor in the University Athletic Association Dormitory at the University of Florida, where he worked as an athletic trainer for local high schools and the University of Central Florida football team. He is married to Jennifer Lynn Hoctor and they have two wonderful daughters, Emma and Claire. Dan enjoys trying to keep himself fit, running, skiing, tennis, golf, and spending time with his wife and kids. He specializes in Orthopedic rehabilitation with utilization of manual techniques. Dan practices primarily as the clinical director for the Franklin office.

 

 

Amy Brinkley

Amy Brinkley received her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Virginia Tech in May of 1995. In July of that year, Amy started at Southside Physical Therapy in a clerical position, quickly promoting to Office Manager in 1998. In 2001, Amy was again promoted to Business Administrator and currently serves in that position. In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, as well as photography and reading.

Renee' earned her B.S. in Physical Therapy at Virginia
Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1986.  She then became a certified sports medicine trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine, B.O.C. and has been the trainer for Atlantic Shores Christian School for the past 12 years.  Her 20 years of
physical therapy experience has included working with many professional athletes in football, as well as hockey and soccer, in addition to being one of the LPGA tour trainers in 2003.  Renee' joined SSPT in March of 2006. She is married with two teenage boys and enjoys the beach, sports and spending time with her family and church.

 

 

 

 


Lee Beasley M.S.P.T.

Lee graduated in 2002 from NortheasternUniversity in Boston with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy.  He spent 4 years practicing in outpatient orthopedic settings in New Jersey where he treated a mix of post-surgical, athletic, and non-athletic musculoskeletal injuries.  Lee has attended additional continuing education courses focusing on lower extremity biomechanics and joint mobilization techniques, and hopes to eventually pursue additional manual therapy certification.  He recently moved to Chesapeake with his wife Jamie, who is also a physical therapist.  Recreationally, Lee enjoys physical fitness and playing music. 

 

 

Anna Black L.P.T.A.

Anna has been with the Southside Physical Therapy family for 3 years. She earned her B.S. degree in Health Science from James Madison University in 2003. Anna also earned her Associates degree in 2006
from Tidewater Community College and is currently practicing as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. She is an enthusiastic horseback rider and enjoys participating in various equestrian activities. Other interests include drawing, reading, and spending
time with her family and friends.


 

 

Julie Shay

Julie has been with the Southside Physical Therapy family for 5 years. Julie, her husband Dave, and three teenagers Matt, Eddie and Alaina, along with their shar-pei's, Tai and Mushu, moved from Utica New York to Chesapeake in 1999. She has worked in the medical billing field for over 20 years. Julie is very involved with the Hickory High School Marching Hawks Color Guard in which her daughter Alaina is a member.

 

 
Norma Gates
Patient Care Coordinator

Norma Gates has been with SSPT since March 2004. She's a Virginia Beach native but has lived in Chesapeake with her husband and 2 kids, Loryn and Michael since 1985. Now with both children grown, her babies are her 2 Bull Terriers and 2 cats. She loves home decorating, Gardening, and now with her recent weight loss over 100 lbs., she loves to shop!!!

 

 
Heather Haywood
Physical Therapy Aide

Heather earned her B.S. degree in Exercise Science from Old Dominion University in August 2007. She is currently working as an aide at Southside and planning to apply to the LPTA program in March. Heather currently lives in Portsmouth, where she has lived most of her life. In her spare time she enjoys shopping, going to the gym, and hanging out with family and friends.

 

 
Tara McDonald
Physical Therapy Aide

Tara graduated from Hickory High School in 1998. She has lived in Chesapeake all of her life. She has a son named Tanner who is almost 2 years old. Tara started working at SSPT in 2001 as an aide with cross training to work at the front desk. She plans to go back to college in the fall for Business Administration. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her son, watching movies, shopping, spending time with friends and family.

Sarah graduated from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2004 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in December 2004. Her interests include traveling and outdoor recreation. She has been employed at Southside Physical Therapy since January 2005.

Susan was born and raised in the Holland area of Suffolk. Susan and her husband Mark have three children, Brittany, Reuben, and Abigail. She has been with Southside Physical Therapy since January of 2001. Susan graduated with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy in December 1986 from the Medical College of Virgina. She is currently working towards her hand certification. Her interests include spending time at the beach, cooking, and doing crafts.

Sue received her Bachelors Degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and her Masters from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She has her Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. She contracts with the Hertford County School System in Winton, North Carolina. She has been a practicing Speech Pathologist for 27 years. She has worked with children as well as adults.

Tracey was born and raised in Franklin, VA. Tracey and her husband Doug have one son, Dale. She has three pets, a white Siamese cat named Winston a miniature schnauzer named Jackie, and a boxer mix named Donatello.  She has been with Southside Physical Therapy since May of 1997. Tracey attended John Tyler Community College and earned an associate's degree in physical therapy. She enjoys bike riding, gardening, cross-stitching, and watching various sports, especially the Franklin Broncos State Champion football team and the New York Yankees.

Evelyn was born and raised in Winton, NC. She is the youngest of three children including one older brother and sister. She and her husband Bobby lives in Gates Country, NC with their black Bombay cat named Rex. She has been with Southside Physical Therapy since May 2003.  After high school she worked part-time as a certified nursing assistant. Evelyn attended Martin Community College and received her associate's degree in physical therapy. Her hobbies include working with flowers, watching movies, and bike riding.

Beth was born and raised in the southern region of West Virginia. She is the youngest of five children. Beth has been with Southside Physical Therapy for since August 2002. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant, she worked for 20 years in youth development organizations. Making the choice to return to school, she attended Tidewater Community College in Va. Beach and earned an associate's degree in physical therapy. Her interests include spending time with family (this includes her calico cat named Callie), friends, attending auctions, creating soy candles, as well as making people smile. 

 

 
Melissa Vaughn

Melissa was born and raised in Franklin, Va. Married to her husband Keith, together they have two sons and a daughter, Brian, Brandon and Kelly. Since high school, Melissa has attended Paul D. Camp Community College and earned an associate’s degree in business administration. She also attended Tidewater Community College and earned an associate’s degree in occupational therapy. Melissa has worked at Southside Physical Therapy since May 2007. Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and working with children with special needs. Other interests include horses, spending time at Lake Gaston and physical fitness.

Tammy was born and raised in Franklin, VA. She has 3 sons, Chad, Wade, and Joshua as well as Ranger a sable and white collie, a rottweiler named Slugger and a pit bull named Tek. Tammy has been with Southside Physical Therapy since March 1994. Prior to joining the staff she was a stay at home mom and part time CNA. She enjoys watching her boys in whichever sport they are involved in and spending time with the family. Her favorite teams are the Franklin High School Broncos, Chowan Hawks, NC Wesleyan Bishops, Ferrum Panthers, and the Boston Red Sox. 

 

 
Betty Hatfield

Betty was born and raised in Portsmouth/Chesapeake area and moved to Franklin in 1972. She began with Southside Physical Therapy January 2001. Married to Larry Hatfield, together they have four daughters, Angie, Debbie, Amber, and Lauren and a granddaughter, Samantha. Betty's pets include a bull mastiff named Bubba, a long haired dachshund named Dusty and a cat, Snowball. Her hobbies are gardening, reading, walking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. A member of Black Creek Baptist Church, she resides at Woods Hill Farm in Franklin

Tina Henderson L.P.T.A.

Tina grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia and moved to Southampton County in 1993. She married her husband, Walter, in October of 1997. They have two children, Shana and Cody. Tina attended Tidewater Community College, where she completed the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. She graduated in May 2003 with an Associate in Applied Science degree. Tina worked with an outpatient clinic in the Chesapeake area for about a year before coming to work at the Windsor office of Southside Physical Therapy, where she has been since October of 2004.

 

 
Barbara Blake

Barbara is a graduate of Wayne High School in Wayne West Virginia. Barbara moved to Virginia in 1972 after her marriage to Gary. She has two children and one grandchild. Barbara worked for 16 years for a local mail ordering company in the customer service/ reprocessing department. She entered the medical field working in an OBGYN office before coming to Southside Physical Therapy in Windsor in August of 2004.
